Wisconsin also has the only Master Cheesemaker program in the country, sponsored by the Wisconsin Center for Dairy Research and the Wisconsin Milk Marketing Board.  To become a Wisconsin Master Cheesemaker, the applicant must have retained a cheesemakers license for at least ten years.  Initially the applicant must pass an interview and a plant inspection.  After three years in the program the applicant writes the examination.
