Answers to Frequently Asked Questions (FAQS)

Museum Information

How much does it cost to visit the National Historic Cheesemaking Center museum?
The Center operates solely on membership and visitor admissions of $5.00 per person. Persons under the age of 16 years are admitted free of charge when accompanied by an adult.
How much time should I build into my travel plans to visit the National Historic Cheesemaking Center
Our visitors time frame is of prime consideration.  The time you spend with us depends on your time schedule.  Our recommendation for time is approximately one hour, including the museum, video presentation, and a visit to the century old Imobersteg Cheese Factory, located on our campus.  Your visit can be taylored to the amount of time you have and your interest.
What does the tour admission include?
The admission fee includes a tour of the National Historic Cheesemaking Museum, providing the story of cheesemaking in the late 1800's & early 1900's.  Your tour also includes a 15 minute video explaining the process of cheese making and how it is done today, and a visit to the Imobersteg Cheese Factory, moved to our campus and completely restored.  All of this, and when we have to say "Good Bye", you will receive a gift bag including helpful area information, a print of the Carl Marty painting entitled, "The Cheesemaker" and a cheese spreader to use with your favorite dips and spreads.
May I take photographs?
Visitors are welcome to take photgraphs for their own personal use.
