Bike Green County

Bikers on Green County Area TrailGreen County offers two splendid biking trails, the Badger State Trail and the Sugar River State Trail. The scenery is incredible and an easy ride. The Badger State Trail begins at the Illinois- Wisconsin state line, running North through Monroe, just one and one-half blocks from the National Historic Cheesemaking Center and continues into Dane County. The Badger State Trail joins the Sugar River Trail in Monticello. The Center offers vehicle parking for Badger trail riders. If you are planning a biking adventure, stop by the Center to obtain your daily or annual trail passes before heading out....

Cheese Country Trail

In addition to the excellent bike trails, a trail head for the Cheese Country ATV trail is located just one-half mile from the National Historic Cheesemaking Center and six miles from the Illinois border. The trail, located in Southwestern Wisconsin, is from Monroe to Mineral Point and parallels the Pecatonica River.

The National Historic Cheesemaking Center offers a wide variety of gifts, bottled water and soft drinks, in addition to public restrooms. While in the area take a break from the trail and enjoy the Cheesemaking museum and view a 15 minute video showing the cheese manufacturing process as it is today.
